Access Grid Retreat for 2003 was held in Chicago, USA, April 15th & 16th. New AG2 technology was the main issue addressed throughout both the developers and users programs.

Grangenet  (GRid and Next Generation Network), providing a new high speed network infrastructure for the east coast of Australia, was launched on 16th October, 2002. Existing AG nodes at QUT and Vislab used the new network to participate in the launch event which was held in Canberra. A new AG node was built at AARNet for the launch. Grangenet are keen to support use of the access grid to support Grangenet projects.

Testing between Thailand (KU), Japan (AIST) and Australia (USyd) October, 2002, revealed some network and audio issues to be resolved.  See pictures from AIST and pictures from KU (including movie in AVI format)
