mtrace for Linux
|

|
Mtrace is a multicast version
of the well known traceroute program. Since the AccessGrid Toolkit by
default uses multicast for its media streams, a tool to debug multicast
problems is likely to be very useful. Such a tool is mtrace.
mtrace as Slackware package
mtrace as
rpm
To install the binary package on Slackware, cd to the directory where
the package was downloaded. Then, as root, run the command:
installpkg
mtrace-5.2-i386-2.tgz
It is often most easy to invoke mtrace from vic, by selecting "Mtrace from" or
"Mtrace to" from the "info" menu associated with each thumbnail video
in the vic main interface.
More detailed instructions for running mtrace manually from the command
line are available from the mtrace
man page.
